Sad Face Image. When plans aren't made in advance for the division of an estate, sad stories for loved ones can occur. Here's how to avoid that situation

One of the hardest parts of my job is hearing sad stories.

Specifically, stories relating to wills and inheritance.

What makes the stories harder to hear is that, in most cases, the pain described by those involved could have been avoided.

Here are just five of the avoidable and sad situations I encounter.

  • Bitter arguments and feuds between siblings over the division of an estate
  • Unmarried partners losing their home because their deceased partner owned the property in which they live, but made no legal provision for them in a will
  • Unnecessary inheritance tax bills  that could have been avoided
  • Payments incurred for unnecessary services and advice following the death of a loved one
  • Homes sold to pay for care home costs

The common denominator in all of the above is a lack of planning.

Specifically, professional estate planning. It can help avoid additional sadness and distress when a loved one dies.

It’s best done now before you need things to kick into place.

And that’s where I can help.

I provide unbiased advice for wills, trusts and estate planning.

There’s no need to be part of a future sad story or the creator of one for those you love.

Arrange a call or meeting, and we can discuss the arrangements you want.
